During our last competition Semco Salehi took some time to write a great story about Michael Nies one of our club members at LAR&R. Mikes interview was published today, so if you have a free moment please read article at: I Am An Angeleno.
Sincerely, SSgt Keating, Cameron What a spectacular weekend! Sunny and 75 degrees, with a snappy wind condition that would keep most shooters on the edge for the full two days. I could not ask for better weather condition for the 2016 Vic Auer 2400 Conventional Rifle Tournament. Minus my personal brain malfunction on the 2nd target of the event I performed well too. However, I did not perform nearly as well as this weekend’s Champion Randy Teissedre who shot an outstanding 1199 on the first day and a max 1200 on day 2. Great shooting Randy!!! Furthermore, the event was a close match with a three-way tie for second place between Mike Nies, Jim Gaines, and myself shooting 1194’s with a mere one point lead over John Giles. The final results can be found here: Left Photo- Mell Flint Gold Medalist F-Class & John Giles. Right Photo - John Giles & Jim Gains Bronze Medalist. Special Awards This year we had two special award categories, the first award shall be known as the “Grumpier Old Men” and our grateful recipients were Randy Teissedre and Bobby De Pasque. We must also give John Giles a hand for being our "Top Shot" placing the most bullet holes through that poor wind flag... Photo's & Article Posted By: SSgt Cameron Keating USAF Shooting Team Member |
